Licensed Marriage Family Therapist

Wendy Fischer, LMFT

Hello, my name is Wendy Fischer and I am a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist.  I have a master’s degree in Marriage & Family Therapy from California Family Study Center, and have been working in this field for over 30 yrs.  I have been a member of California Association of Marriage Family Therapists (CAMFT) for over 20 years.

During this time, I have learned the critical nature of flexibility and adaptability.  I provide a compassionate, direct, & non-judgmental approach to help empower individuals to make a beneficial change in their life.

My Specialties include working with adolescents and couples, as well as individuals with depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, eating disorders, and PTSD. I work with ages 13 and above.  I look forward to meeting you and to helping you empower yourself to make wonderful changes in your life.

Associate Professional Clinical Counselor

Stephani Salazar Madrid, APCC

Hello, my name is Stephani Salazar Madrid and I am an Associate Professional Clinical Counselor.  I have a master’s degree in Counseling with a specialization in Rehabilitation Counseling from Sacramento State University.  Recently, I have worked with individuals who have migrated from one country to another and provided services to the individuals and families to help with their successful transition.

My Specialties include working with children, adolescents and adults who identify with specific disabilities including mental, physical, and emotional disabilities.  I also have experience working with infants and adolescents with Autism Spectrum Disorder and aiding in the achievement of greater independence.

It is important for me to provide a safe space for all clients and aid in your journey to a fulfilling and balanced life.  I use a therapeutic approach that is person-centered and commit to providing non-judgmental, empathetic counseling.  I hope for a collaborative and positive therapeutic experience.

Associate Professional Clinical Counselor

Alina Chernyavskaya, APCC

Hello, my name is Alina Chernyavskaya and I am an Associate Professional Clinical Counselor and a School Counselor at a local middle school.  I have a master’s degree in Counseling from Sacramento State University, and am now working towards my Registered Play Therapy license.

 

My professional experience includes working with children and adolescents who struggle with depression, anxiety, bullying, OCD, ADHD and trauma. 

My therapeutic style is guided by Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), Child Centered Play Therapy, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). I am a lifelong learner and approach my clients with cultural humility, compassion, and trauma-informed care. I frequently use grounding and mindfulness in sessions to foster a safe therapeutic environment.

 Astro

   Therapy Dog

Astro was born on Nov. 12th, 2018.  He joined MMHC when he was only 8 weeks old.  Astro loves being a Therapy Dog and takes his job very seriously.

 

Astro's mother is an 80 lbs Rottweiler/Labrador Retriever and his father is a12 lbs purebred miniature poodle.  Astro and his littermates all weigh in around 55 lbs.

Astro is a fun loving dog who loves all humans.  He also enjoys barking at squirrels.
